Description
Native to North America, the balsam fir can live up to 150 years and reach an average of 15 meters in height. It has different botanical names, including Abies balsamifera or Pinus balsamea. Its oleoresin, called “balsam of Canada” or fir tree gum, is widely used in optics and in pharmacy. It was for a long time a benchmark of popular medicine for Canadians. Its essential oil would be known to bring strength, determination and wisdom!
